I am currently a Resident in Counseling and under clinical supervision while working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. I enjoy a collaborative approach with clients as we decide together the best path towards healing. I maintain a warm and welcoming presence through a non-judgmental, open, and caring heart.

As a clinician, I believe individuals innately hold the power to heal themselves and I am dedicated to joining individuals in their healing journey. Healing does not happen in isolation. We heal within community, connections, and relationships. My role is to create a safe and secure relationship with clients to further encourage positive experiences within relationships.

I have a holistic, person-centered approach, aiming to provide a safe and healing therapeutic environment for individuals of all backgrounds. I integrate a variety of approaches to meet the needs of each client. I have been trained in several trauma-informed approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems. I recognize the various ways in which all individuals are impacted by trauma. I believe that while trauma often impacts our minds, we carry trauma in our bodies as well. I am passionate about trauma treatment and its capacity to transform the mind and body.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Christopher Newport University and continued my education at James Madison University, graduating with an Education Specialty and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My experience includes work in university counseling settings, community-based treatment, and out-patient treatment in private practice settings.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading (ask me what book I’m currently reading!), dancing, puzzling, and hiking. With my partner, we have three mischievous kitties and love living in our historical RVA home!
