"Creating Positive Change One Individual At A Time"
Hi, I'm Madison!
I am a Resident in Counseling, pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Truman State University.
I strive to bring a down-to-earth, warm, and compassionate presence into the therapy space, creating a relaxed and supportive environment where clients feel safe, heard, and valued. My mission is to walk alongside my clients as a fellow traveler through life’s challenges—navigating transitions, conflict, and loss—while helping them find meaning and fulfillment. I am committed to fostering a therapeutic space built on mutual respect, trust, compassion, and empowerment
for every individual I work with.
While my approach to therapy is integrative and tailored to each client’s unique needs, Feminist Theory is the foundation of my practice, which recognizes how our personal
experiences are shaped by larger social systems and identities. My work is strengths-
based and person-centered, aimed at meeting my clients where they are and
empowering them to discover their own resilience and abilities. In addition to Feminist
Theory, I frequently incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and
Existential Theory into my practice.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the medical field during the COVID-19
pandemic, primarily with women and children. After leaving healthcare to focus on my
own mental health, I transitioned into teaching, where I discovered a deep passion for
working with adolescents. This experience solidified my desire to merge my interests in
healthcare and education through counseling. I have experience providing individual,
group, and family therapy to adolescents, but I have also worked with a wide range of
adult populations. My time working with adult immigrants and refugees gave me the
opportunity to engage with clients from vastly different backgrounds—and often across
language barriers—reinforcing my commitment to multicultural competence.
As a white woman, I recognize that my lived experiences are often different from many of my
clients, and I am dedicated to providing inclusive, culturally responsive care. My areas
of expertise include life transitions, anxiety and depression, parent-child conflict,
relationship difficulties, women’s and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Outside of work, I love spending time in nature, whether hiking, kayaking, or just
relaxing outside with my rescue dog, Sandy. I also have a deep appreciation for music
and art, and I enjoy throwing clay on the wheel as well as painting. Traveling and
experiencing new food are two of my greatest joys, and I’m always looking for my next
adventure—especially one that involves exploring a new city and its restaurants.
