My name is Ayanna Swan and I'm thrilled to be the Administrative Assistant at Renewal, Growth, & Healing. My journey has been a unique blend of academics, athletics, and a genuine passion for client care.

I proudly represented both The Ohio State University and VCU in NCAA Division I Volleyball, balancing the intensity of sports with my academic pursuits. I earned my associate's degree in Behavioral Sciences from Richard Bland College of William & Mary, laying the foundation for my interest in understanding human behavior. Later, I graduated from VCU with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Psychology, merging my love for sports with the intricacies of the human mind.

Over the past two years, I've had the privilege of working in administrative roles, and I genuinely find joy in client interaction. My passion for client care in a mental health setting is deeply rooted in the belief that genuine connection and empathy are powerful tools in promoting healing and well-being. I find immense fulfillment in being the first face clients see when they enter our office, aiming to create a welcoming and supportive environment. Each interaction is an opportunity to contribute positively to someone's mental health journey! I understand the importance of active listening, patience, and compassion in providing the necessary support and reassurance for individuals facing mental health challenges. My goal is to foster a sense of understanding and trust, ensuring that every client feels heard and valued throughout their therapeutic process. In this ever-evolving field, I am committed to continually learning and growing to enhance the quality of care I provide and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those seeking support and healing!

 

Away from the office, I'm a proud cat parent to two furry babies (feel free to reach out for pictures, I have plenty :) ! I have also played guitar for almost 5 years and plan on learning to play the electric bass very soon. I enjoy hiking, water sports, yoga, and anything to do with plants and flowers!
